Mouse Story...

A mouse
looked through the crack
in the wall
to see the farmer and his wife
open a package.

"What food
might this contain?"
The mouse wondered -
he was devastated
to discover
it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard,
the mouse
proclaimed the warning:

"There is a mousetrap
in the house!
There is a mousetrap
in the house!"

The chicken clucked
and scratched,
raised her head
and said,
"Mr. Mouse,
I can tell
this is a grave concern to you
but it is of no consequence to me.
I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him,
"There is a mousetrap
in the house!
There is a mousetrap
in the house!"

The pig sympathized,
but said,
"I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse,
but there is nothing
I can do about it but pray.
Be assured
you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said,
"There is a mousetrap
in the house!
There is a mousetrap
in the house!"

The cow said,
"Wow, Mr. Mouse.
I'm sorry for you,
but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse
returned to the house,
head down and dejected,
to face the farmer's mousetrap -- alone.

That very night
a sound was heard
throughout the house --
like the sound
of a mousetrap
catching its prey.

The farmer's wife
rushed to see
what was caught.
In the darkness,
she did not see
it was a venomous snake
whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake
bit the farmer's wife.
The farmer
rushed her to the hospital
and she returned home
with a fever.
Everyone knows
you treat a fever
with fresh chicken soup,
so the farmer took his hatchet
to the farmyard
for the soup's
main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness
continued,
so friends and neighbors
came to sit with her
around the clock.
To feed them,
the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife
did not get well;
she died.
So many people came
for her funeral,
the farmer
had the cow slaughtered
to provide enough meat
for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all
from his crack in the wall
with great sadness.

So, the next time
you hear someone
is facing a problem
and think it doesn't
concern you,
remember --
when one of us is threatened,
we are all at risk.

We are all involved
in this journey
called life.
We must keep an eye out
for one another
and make an extra effort to
encourage one another.

REMEMBER:
EACH OF US
IS A VITAL THREAD
IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY;
OUR LIVES
ARE WOVEN TOGETHER
FOR A REASON.

One of the best things
to hold onto in this world
is a friend.

forgive but not forget?

do u not remember tat i've mentioned the following statement before?

" i forgive but i do not forget. if u have wronged/hurt/betrayed me before, when i am finally able to forgive, please note that i NEVER forget. "

it is not bcuz i can't let go, but it is to remind myself of a lesson learnt.

it's either u do not fully comprehend the extent of ur actions which impacts me negatively or u really do not realize tat u r hurting wat we have between us or maybe u simply chose to ignore my feelings.

i definitely do not understand ur reasons for doing so.

is it bcuz u tink tat i do not mind anymore, or u wanna prove a point on how chummy u are with everyone? bcuz u are bored & u entertain whoever gives u the attention? or it is bcuz u feel tat by doing so, it gives u a certain degree of superiority?

u still seem to be in denial. for once, pls juz admit the reasons & stop finding excuses.

u leave me no choice.

cuz u did it again, something i cant condone nor ever understand.

" e knowledge of wat u r doing, makes it hard for me to tell u bout happenings around me. "

GSS and Wi-Fi

I keep wanting to talk about the above: Great Singapore Sale (GSS) and Wireless@SG Programme (Wi-Fi).

But i was rather busy with work last week. Then after which i went to Bali. =)
So this entry may seem rather late, afterall GSS ends this month.

But what the heck! Cuz there was no satisfying shopping spree for me at all! I can't believe it... o_O Everyone seems to be able to buy tonnes & tonnes of new items, clothes, shoes, bags, you name it, they got it. And when Mango was having THE SALE, i did not even buy a SINGLE item from Mango. Duh! So far, i have only managed to buy extremely casual clothings, eg shorts to wear to the beach or casual tops. All i just want to buy is some Office Apparel. =( Is it really that difficult?

Anyway...

That day, i was all geared up for a shopping spree but i ended up buying NOTHING. Even after walking around the whole shopping complex, meticulously entering each and every shop, and lastly going through all clothings on the racks, for 2hours! (After all, Parkway Parade isn't really that big, otherwise, nothing made me stop in my tracks.) Oh, and i did try on tops too!

Thus i decided to let my poor tired feet rest and indulge myself in some self-pity-cum-sulking moments, while waiting for Kelvin to pick me up.

I went to Starbucks to treat myself to a deserving cold drink sitting at a cool & comfy location, where i could see all the hustling & bustling happening before me.

Then i got bored. I did not buy any magazines cuz the ones that i usually read were bought and at home. I had NOTHING to do.

Recalling about Wi-Fi, i decided to give it a try, with my Nokia E65 (i know the screen is small but what to do, i was bored).

In case, you do not know what is Wi-Fi, it is a free wireless programme for certain locations is Singapore. Most useful for people with nothing to do but equipped with a laptop or 3G mobile phone.

For more info on the Wireless@SG Programme, click
here. Decided to register for it? Ok, click here.

Luckily, there was Wi-Fi @ Parkway, then i started surfing blogs and even the street directory. haha! I must say, it's really quite fun to surf the WorldWideWeb when u are outdoors with nothing to do and furthermore at no $cost$ at all.

The only hindrance was that my mobile screen was abit too small for my liking.

Nonetheless, count the little blessings. =) It managed to keep me occupied till he came to fetch me.

ps: Recently, I even booked last minute movie tickets, thru Wi-Fi, while i was in town. Booking seats? No prob too! There is NOTHING i can't do now! =)

Alternatively, if the area you are around has no Wi-Fi, then go to the nearest MacDonald's.
